Gefeiert für ihren „magical and inspirational […] sound“ (Rye News), ist Séverine Kim als herausragende, leidenschaftliche Musikerin weltweit zu Gast.
Nach ihrem Debüt in London war sie in den vergangenen Spielzeiten unter anderem mit den Bergischen Symphonikern und der Philharmonie Südwestfalen zu erleben. Zudem gastierte sie mit Solo-Recitals und Kammerkonzerten in renommierten Konzertreihen in Deutschland, England und Südkorea. Im Rahmen des Deutschen Musikwettbewerbs brachte sie darüber hinaus die preisgekrönten Werke des Kompositionswettbewerbs zur Uraufführung.
In der aktuellen Saison führen sie Engagements zur Vogtlandphilharmonie sowie zum JPON.
In der kommenden Spielzeit konzertiert sie unter anderem mit dem Göttinger Symphonieorchester und debütiert in Chemnitz sowie Los Angeles. Parallel dazu entfaltet sie eine rege internationale Konzerttätigkeit mit Klavierabenden und Kammermusikprojekten auf zahlreichen Bühnen.
Engagements führten sie bereits in bedeutende Konzertsäle wie das Concertgebouw Amsterdam, die Laeiszhalle Hamburg, den Salle Cortot Paris und das Seoul Arts Center. Als Solistin arbeitete sie mit renommierten Orchestern wie dem Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, dem Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, dem Südwestdeutschen Kammerorchester Pforzheim und dem Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra zusammen. Darüber hinaus ist sie regelmäßig Gast internationaler Festivals, darunter das Seoul Symphony Festival, das Internationale Klavierfestival Junger Meister, die „New Masters on Tour“ der International Holland Music Sessions, das Schlesische Beethoven Festival in Głogówek, das Mozartfest Würzburg sowie das Euregio Musikfestival. Ihre Konzerte wurden mehrfach live von Deutschlandfunk, NDR, SWR und Classic FM übertragen.
Zuletzt wurde sie beim James Mottram International Piano Competition in Manchester mit dem 1. Preis sowie dem Publikumspreis ausgezeichnet. Darüber hinaus ist sie Preisträgerin zahlreicher internationaler Wettbewerbe, darunter der Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition in Salt Lake City, der Chopinwettbewerb der Chopin-Gesellschaft Hannover, der Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition sowie der ZF-Musikpreis in Friedrichshafen.
Neben ihren solistischen Auftritten ist sie in verschiedenen Kammermusik-Ensembles wie dem Klavierduo „Kim & Hanssen“ oder dem „Jasper Trio“ (Klaviertrio) aktiv. Darüber hinaus konzertiert sie regelmäßig mit Künstlerinnen und Künstlern wie Leonid Gorokhov, Mohamed Hiber, Alexander Hülshoff, Midori, Johannes Moser, Nabil Shehata, Milena und Roman Simović sowie Tianwa Yang. In enger Zusammenarbeit mit Schauspielern und Sprechern entwickelt sie innovative Konzertformate wie die „Musikalische Lesung“, die Musik und Sprache verbinden. Sie ist Gründerin und künstlerische Leiterin der Festivals „Celler Sommerkonzerte“ sowie „Herbstmusikfest Gifhorn-Wolfsburg“.
Séverine Kim wurde als Stipendiatin durch die Chopin-Gesellschaft Hannover, Live Music Now Hannover und die Werner Richard – Dr. Carl Dörken Stiftung gefördert. Seit 2024 ist sie Stipendiatin der Konzertförderung des Deutschen Musikwettbewerbs sowie der Deutschen Stiftung Musikleben und der Landesstiftung Villa Musica Rheinland-Pfalz.
Geboren in Seoul, Südkorea, wechselte sie nach Abschluss des Jungstudiums am Korean National Institute for the Gifted in Arts bei Daejin Kim und Yoonju Oh im Sommer 2011 an die Musikhochschule Hannover, wo sie den Studiengang Konzertexamen in der Klasse von Bernd Goetzke erfolgreich absolvierte. Daneben vertiefte sie ihre Studien im Master Kammermusik bei Markus Becker.
Vom Sommersemester 2023 bis zum Wintersemester 2025/26 war sie als Lehrbeauftragte an der Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover tätig. Seit 2025 ist sie als Lehrkraft für besondere Aufgaben im Fach Klavier an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater München tätig.

Celebrated for her “magical and inspirational [...] sound” (Rye News), Séverine Kim is an outstanding and passionate musician who performs on stages around the world.
Following her debut in London, she has appeared in recent seasons with orchestras including the Bergische Symphoniker and the Philharmonie Südwestfalen. She has also given solo recitals and chamber music concerts in renowned concert series across Germany, England, and South Korea. As part of the German Music Competition (Deutscher Musikwettbewerb), she premiered award-winning works from its composition competition.
In the current season, engagements take her to the Vogtland Philharmonic Orchestra and the Junges Philharmonisches Orchester Niedersachsen (JPON). Upcoming highlights include appearances with the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra, as well as debut performances in Chemnitz and Los Angeles.
Alongside these engagements, she maintains an active international concert career, presenting piano recitals and chamber music projects on stages worldwide.
Her performances have taken her to prestigious concert halls such as the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Salle Cortot Paris, and the Seoul Arts Center. As a soloist, she has collaborated with renowned orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the Southwest German Chamber Orchestra Pforzheim, and the Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra. She is also a regular guest at international festivals, including the Seoul Symphony Festival, the International Piano Festival “Junger Meister,” the International Holland Music Sessions’ “New Masters on Tour,” the Silesian Beethoven Festival in Głogówek, Mozartfest Würzburg, and the Euregio Music Festival. Her performances have been broadcast live on several occasions by Deutschlandfunk, NDR, SWR, and Classic FM.
Among her competition achievements are First Prize and the Audience Prize at the James Mottram International Piano Competition in Manchester, as well as awards at the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition in Salt Lake City, the Chopin Competition of the Chopin Society Hannover, the Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition, and the ZF Music Prize in Friedrichshafen.
Alongside her solo career, she is an active chamber musician, performing in ensembles such as the piano duo “Kim & Hanssen” and the Jasper Trio. She regularly collaborates with distinguished artists including Leonid Gorokhov, Mohamed Hiber, Alexander Hülshoff, Midori, Johannes Moser, Nabil Shehata, Milena and Roman Simović, and Tianwa Yang. In close collaboration with actors and speakers, she develops innovative concert formats that combine music and the spoken word. She is the founder and artistic director of the festivals "Celler Sommerkonzerte" and "Herbstmusikfest Gifhorn-Wolfsburg".
Séverine Kim has received scholarships and support from the Chopin Society Hannover, Live Music Now Hannover, and the Werner Richard – Dr. Carl Dörken Foundation. Since 2024, she has been a scholarship holder of the concert promotion programme of the German Music Competition, the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, and the Villa Musica Rheinland-Pfalz Foundation.
Born in Seoul, South Korea, she completed her pre-college studies at the Korean National Institute for the Gifted in Arts under Daejin Kim and Yoonju Oh before moving to Germany in 2011 to study at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media. There, she completed the prestigious Konzertexamen programme in the class of Bernd Goetzke. She also pursued advanced chamber music studies in the Master’s programme with Markus Becker.
From the summer semester of 2023 until the winter semester of 2025/26, she served as a lecturer at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media. Since 2025, she has held the position of Senior Lecturer in Piano at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich.
